My second single “Down” is out everywhere now!

Down is a deeply personal love ballad about being there for someone going through a hard time.

During the pandemic my then-girlfriend was struggling a lot with depression and I would always try to cheer her up, calling her constantly, trying to make her laugh, and reminding her how much she was loved.

One day after I left, she texted me that she was going to swallow an entire bottle of sleeping pills, and I knew she meant it.

I also recognized this as cry for help.

Luckily her friend and I were able to break down the door to her room just in time and she was taken to the hospital. She stayed in a coma for three days, but eventually woke up.

During that time I wrote this song for her.

I wanted to share this story, because I think so many people have lived through it in one way or another.

I’ve struggled with depression myself in the past, and I’m hoping we can talk about these things more and support each other.

This is something so many people deal with, yet the stigma involved makes it hard to ask for help.
